Wheelock Mountain Farm is deep in the rural, rugged beauty of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. We're a 20 minute drive from Hardwick, 1 hour from Montpelier, 1 3/4 hours from Burlington, 3 hours from Montreal, 3 1/2 hours from Boston. . .

Located in West Wheelock, we're halfway between Hardwick and Glover, 2 miles off of Route 16. Mapquest and other computer generated directions are a bit convoluted out this way - roads that exist in theory aren't always passable!

If you need to stop and ask for directions as you get closer, ask folks for the way to Greensboro Bend. (If you ask for Wheelock, they'll probably direct you to the other side of the mountain, not knowing that our little corner of the world is actually Wheelock also!)

As you reach the dirt roads close to WMF, please drive gently - the wildlife, your vehicle, and our neighbors will appreciate your care.

Local directions:
From Hardwick (to our south)
Head out of Hardwick on Rte. 15 east; continue 1 1/2 – 2 miles
Turn left onto Rte. 16
Continue 6 1/2 miles on Rte. 16 – pass the turns for East Hardwick, Greensboro and Greensboro Bend
Look for a two houses on the right side – one is pale yellow (ok, almost white), the other silver
Turn right at the houses onto Gonyaw Road – a dirt road
Take Gonyaw Road 2 miles to its end
At the “T” turn left onto West Wheelock Road
Continue ahead about 1/4 mile until you see parking signs

From Glover (to our north)
Head out of Glover on Rte. 16 south
Continue roughly 9 miles on Rte. 16
Pass Sparhawk Road on the left – after another 1 1/2 miles look for two houses on the left side – one is silver, the other pale yellow/white
Turn left at the houses onto Gonyaw Road – a dirt road
Take Gonyaw Road 2 miles to its end
At the “T” turn left onto West Wheelock Road
Continue ahead about 1/4 mile until you see parking signs

From further afield:
Heading South on Interstate 91
Take exit 25 – Rte. 16 towards Barton/Hardwick
Turn right onto Rte. 16
Continue on Rte. 16 south, through Glover and follow the directions above

Heading North on Interstate 91
Take exit 21 – Rte. 2 towards St. Johnsbury/Montpelier
Merge onto Rte. 2 west towards Rt. 15
Continue on Rte. 2 roughly 9 miles, until you reach West Danville and the General Store on the right
Turn right onto Rte. 15 west.
Continue on Rte. 15 for about 10 miles -- pass Rte. 215 and village of Walden Corner
Turn right onto Rte. 16 north.
Follow “From Hardwick” directions above at the 4th step, continuing on Rte. 16

From Interstate 89 and Montpelier
Take exit 8 toward Rte. 2/Montpelier/Rt. 12/St. Johnsbury
The exit merges onto Rte. 2 - stay on Rte. 2
Just past Montpelier there is a traffic circle - go around 1/2 way to continue on Rte 2
Continue about 5 miles
At the traffic light turn left onto Rte 14
Continue another 20 miles, at which point you enter Hardwick
Continue straight at the stop light (yes, there’s just one!)
Drive through Hardwick, staying to the right, and following signs to Rte. 15
Pass the motel on the left and follow “From Hardwick” directions above
